Cllr Sarmila Varatharaj is one your two Labour candidates for Wandle ward
Sarmila is a Tooting-born resident who’s proud to represent our diverse community. She is Wandsworth’s Deputy Cabinet member for Communities, having served as the Borough’s Refugee and Sanctuary Champion for 3 years.
Sarmila has been passionate about social justice since being a student at Burntwood School. Volunteering with NGOs during school led to her work at the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Important voting information for those voting in person on Thursday 7th May:
- You can vote anytime between 7am and 10pm.
- You DON’T need your poll card to vote: just turn up and give your name and address.
- You now need photo ID to vote.
- You have two votes, you can vote for both Labour candidates.
- If you make a mistake on your ballot paper, ask for another
If voting by post, please cast your vote a few days before polls close on 7th May.
Cast both your votes for Labour to keep your Labour Council. Don’t risk a Conservative/Reform coalition.
