NEW: Wandsworth Labour have frozen the main element of council tax for the 4th year in a row

When Labour won Wandsworth, we promised to keep council tax low. Four years later we are still delivering on that promise, you will continue to pay the lowest Council Tax in the country.

Council Tax is an unfair tax that hits lower income households the hardest, adding to the cost-of-living pressures that many are already facing. That’s why we’re doing everything we can to keep bills low, to deliver a more compassionate and fair Wandsworth.

Wandsworth Labour delivers excellent services with some of the highest financial reserves and lowest debt of any London borough. Sound financial management is at the heart of everything we do and allows us to freeze council tax and invest in what matters to you:

• 25% improvement in our recycling rate - plus every household now gets two Free Bulky Waste collections a year, more free Mega Skip Days and guaranteed weekly waste and recycling collections.
• New rapid response CCTV cars – we have increased street lighting at night, doubled support for victims of domestic abuse and hired more community safety officers to keep Wandsworth the safest inner-London borough.
• Best ever air quality - we cherish our parks and green spaces, with record investment and 1,000 trees planted each year so everyone can enjoy a healthier, greener place to live.

Caring for our most vulnerable neighbours is central to what we do. We will continue to provide excellent care for our older residents and support the NHS. An increase of 2% in the adult social care precept this year will help us protect this work. We continue to support our residents with the biggest cost of living support fund in London and our Access for All scheme to build a fairer Wandsworth for all.

On May 7th the choice is clear. A compassionate, fairer council under Labour or a chaotic Tory-Reform council.
